Life update

It’s been a little while. Life has been so busy lately with the summer and family visiting.

After our Icelandic trip (more on that in a future newsletter), we all got sick and things got pushed more and more in our life.

My daughter started the kindergarten, so it has all been quite intense and busy. I had to be more mindful of the time we have together and slow things down. Enjoying our last few weeks together as a duo, and preparing for the fall.

But I am slowly coming back to art and , making more and more time to create new art to share with you.

The beginning of new collection : Italy and the Garda Lake

In between all the business and painting my still-lifes, I have been working on a little Mediterranean collection inspired by our trips to Italy and Croatia.

The Garda Lake, is one of my absolute favorite places. I love the beautiful mountains that stretch in front of you, and how they contrast with an almost Mediterranean feeling on the shores of the Lake. Life there goes at a much slower pace, people are relaxed, and I always feel like I can breathe and be at peace there.

Everytime we visit, we stay in Castelletto. It is a very small village 20min from Malcesine, it is quiet but the food and people there are just amazing. You can enjoy some local food and drinks and take a long walk or swim in the lake.

Inspiration Croatia

The same goes for Tribujn, it is a little fisherman village in Croatia squeeze in between the very touristy Split and Zadar. I love how quiet the place is, every year we go there and you are sure to meet the same people, both locals and tourists. It makes this place for me feel like a home away from home.

Both places have always inspired me and it was about time I tried to put them on canvas.

I often love revisiting the place through my paintings in my studio. And I thought now would be a good time to work on it as a mini collection of 6 to 8 pieces max. Nothing too big, but not too small to give you some variety.

Here are some little glimpses at what I am working on for it. there are some small sketches and color palettes. I hope this little teaser makes you look forward to it , as much as I am having fun working on it .
